Shannon Creek Phase – I, project completion

Our first completed project on Shannons Creek corrected some serious flaws caused five decades ago. As near as we can determine, the making of a small “park” area included dredging of stream material into large piles of that would isolate the stream during high water events thus not allowing high flows to access flood plain. T.T.C.U. does not plan to stock additional trout into Shannon Creek. This and future projects will aim to create suitable habitat for native Brook Trout repopulation. Native Brookies do exist upstream currently. Our efforts may include importing natives from those upstream areas.
