What is a riparian buffer zone ?: An area along a shoreline, wetland or stream where land disturbance is restricted or prohibited<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The primary function of a riparian buffer is to physically protect and separate a stream, lake, or wetland from future disturbance or encroachment. Trout club members, Fish & Boat Commission and Western Pennsylvania Conservancy personnel annually maintain past project riparian buffer tree plantings. All stream TTCU stream habitat projects include “riparian buffer zones” . <\/p>\n\n\n\n
